Dear Tim
Thank you for your email of 18 May with briefing from the UK Open Government Civil Society Network on the open government agenda.
In our manifesto, we committed to continue to be the most transparent government in the world. As work starts on the development of our third Open Government Partnership National Action Plan, I am keen to ensure we demonstrate this ambition both through the strength of our commitments and the open approach to developing them. I share your enthusiasm for open data and the importance of transparency.
I know you are already working with officials on a launch event for National Action Plan development process in July, and I hope to speak at this event to set out this Government’s vision for our collaborative working and ambition for open government in the UK.
In advance of this event, I would like to invite the members of the network’s steering committee to discuss this in more detail. My officials will be in touch shortly to arrange a suitable date.
Yours sincerely,
Matt
The Rt Hon Matthew Hancock MP
