Opportunity: NI Open Government Network – Treasurer & Director to the Board

by Connor McLean

The Board of Directors of NI Open Government Network CIC (NIOGN) is currently inviting expressions of interest from suitable individuals to join the Board of Directors. We are particularly keen to involve a new Treasurer, who will fulfil an office bearer role alongsinde the Chair and the Secretary.

The Board provides strategic leadership to the organisation, ensuring it is well run and delivering the outcomes for which it has been set up. The Treasurer will proactively work to provide financial oversight to NIOGN and fulfill a crucial governance function and legal obligation.

Opportunities:

As a Treasurer with the NIOGN (CIC) you will be part of a team, committed to working with government and lobby politicians on the commitments to Open Government as identified in the Open Government National Action Plan. The NI commitments of the plan can be found here. Whilst the time commitment for the Treasurer is low, there will also be opportunities to support the broader work of the network to engage with civic society to increase understanding of democratic processes, the work of central and local government and of the NI Civil Service.
