PART ONE: Help ‘reset’ the UK Open Government Network
STRENGTHEN YOUR VOICE FOR REFORM
Help renew the UK Open Government Network
For the last decade the UK Open Government Network (UK OGN) has taken civil society into the heart of the UK government.
Hundreds of reformers have worked with civil servants on dozens of policy commitments related to what is called open government: transparent, participatory, inclusive, and accountable governance.
It is a process created by the 77 country strong Open Government Partnership (OGP) and has been championed by Presidents and Prime Ministers alike over the years, including our own.
Yet of late it has been beset with difficulties.
The UK government is ‘under review’ for failing to meet OGP criteria, and the UK OGN has not had the resources equal to its ambition for a diverse, inclusive, and transformational process of shared policy creation and implementation. As a result, civil society confidence is low at precisely the time when societal interest in open government is high.
Something has to change. So it will. And we want you to be a part of it.
The OGP has funded Involve, the UK’s leading public participation charity to deliver two online workshops:
- Part One: Wednesday 16th November, 0930 – 1130
- Part Two: Wednesday 30th November, 0930 – 1130
These workshops will serve as a reset for the UK OGN providing clarity with regards to its future direction and sustainability.
Their success is reliant on input from people passionate about transparent, participatory, inclusive, and accountable governance. People passionate about how governments can better serve their citizens. People like you.
